Retirement Plans for Businesses*

Finding the best solution to a retirement plan depends on many business variables, such as the firm’s objectives, its profitability, the owners’ budget, and the number and types of employees. What’s more, the decision necessarily involves at least three different entities: the owner(s), a third party administrator, and an investments specialist.

DH Financial & Insurance Services has had over thirty years experience in serving our clients needs in this arena. We will function as a liaison between the firm, the financial services vendor and the third party administrator.

Our process begins with a detailed fact finding interview, in order to determine the goals and objectives of the owners, including a current census of employees. Then, together with a TPA, a plan will be analyzed to match the firm’s needs, and an appropriate investment platform identified.

Often, a firm will already have a plan, but the owners are dissatisfied for any of a number of reasons. We can assist in amending the plan to bring it in line with the firm’s objectives, or possibly change the firm’s investment platform.

Finally, some firms will decide that a “tax qualified” retirement plan is too restrictive or in some way inappropriate. We can often devised a “non-qualified,” or “Top Hat program,” which will benefit a select group of employees.

Designing the best business retirement plan can be an extremely involved process and one that requires specialists. DH Financial & Insurance Services can provide the framework to assist our business clients in accomplishing their objectives.
